Open Door Organizing wants to do more than just organize your current project. We want to give you the tools to organize new spaces and maintain the work we have done together. Once learned the Clutterbug™ rules for decluttering and this organizing sequence will become second nature. Just remember the acronym S P A C E .
SORT Gather everything in the space you are working on into keep, sell, give away or garbage piles. Remember that you are organizing for the space you currently have! Keep it appropriate!
PURGE Sell, Give away and Garbage need to depart the premises! This does mean now! I can help you with this. As in, I can do this for you. ;)
ARRANGE For the things you have chosen to keep - arrange like things together. This is actually my favorite part.
CONTAIN Now, and only now, ;) that you have similar items grouped together you can purchase appropriately sized containers. The number one important question is, do your saved items fit into the space you intend to keep them in? We can work on this. LABEL YOUR CONTAINERS! Together we will find your labeling style! Hint, this will be very fun!
EVALUATE To maintain the system establish a timeline to re-evaluate your belongings. When things come in others things may need to go out! If you would like ongoing support we can help!
